He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who loved him.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 2 from 5 to 7pm at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, October 3 at Savannah Christian Church, 55 Al Henderson Blvd. in Savannah, with Rev. Cam Huxford and Rev. John Crosby officiating. To the Family, I am sorry for your loss. So many years ago, John was wonderful person to me. I remember the boat rides, watching baseball fanaticism in the front yard, car stereo stories, paint, and just hanging out at the house. It was just a year or two ago that I was home visiting my parents and saw John in the yard. I pulled a U-Turn at the break on Richmond to talk to for a few minutes. He called my name as I got out of the car, came over, and gave me a hug. It was awesome for him to remember me like that. Thank you all for sharing your lives with me so many years ago. Sincerely yours, Justin Callaway

I am thankful and blessed for having shared his life with you. He always spoke with love for all of his Family! May God bless you as you continue through this period of adjustment.

I remember John so well at the time I lived in Savannah and worked with him at New England Financial. I remember a most a presious morning when for the first time in my Christan walk, John stopped at my desk and said, will you pray with me about can't even remember what and I was thrilled and shocked. I had never had a man ask me to pray with them within the work place. It is still one of my greatest memories. I will always remember John as loving, gentle, kind and funny as the dickens. I just say thank you Jesus for allowing me to know him and his beautiful family. My heart is out to all of you and you are in my prayers. I ask that the peace of Christ floods over, around and in all of you. Bless each and everyone of you and walk in God's love. Nancy Fowler
